Lindenbaum (Bodaiju) is a leaf-shaped all-glass exterior with an innovative design. The interior is a warm space made with plenty of Linden wood.
The bright, glass-walled space has a structure where teachers and staff can see students from various directions which was designed to ensure safety and security.
The school building is fully air-conditioned, and the windows are made of special double-glazed glass with excellent UV protection, sound insulation and heat insulation. We are creating a learning environment that puts the health and comfort of children first.
In 2005, the school was awarded the “Fukuoka Prefecture (for creating a beautiful city) Grand Prize” for its eco-friendly construction.
In addition to being designed for indoor sports, it is equipped with the latest sound and lighting equipment so that it can be used for various events. There are 3 shower rooms for boys and 3 shower rooms for girls.

Organic School Lunches and ShokuikuThere are 2 grassy fields where soccer games and other outdoor sports are held. Students can also enjoy grass skiing on the slope between the two grounds.
There are about 20 kinds of athletic equipment such as a Tarzan rope, adventure log crossing, tree swings and suspension bridges. It is also very popular with the children. Enriching children's sense of adventure through play, it fosters an excellent sense of balance.
Next to the pottery house is a special building for learning about the traditional tea ceremony. In addition, classes will be held in the tearoom of the Japan University of Economics, a group-affiliated school.

A biotope is a space where various creatures such as carp, crayfish, tadpoles, killifish and dragonflies form one natural ecosystem. Students can also learn about living creatures in their natural environment.
We have a lodge-style dormitory on campus. Students experience the safety and comfort of having teachers from Linden Hall School also live-in and assist as a dorm parent.

There are a variety of instruments that can foster a global sense of music, including drums, guitars, Japanese drums, xylophones and metallophones harps. Another feature is that they can learn in a bright, light-filled classroom with glass.
Our school's uniforms are designed by Hanae Mori, a leading figure in the world of fashion. This uniform was developed out of the desire for students to “learn how to take pride in their appearance during their younger years”.
Our PE uniform is made from 95% polyester and 5% cotton. More than 50% of the polyester material is made from recycled plastic bottles and contributes to resource conservation and reducing CO2. Students also collect used PE uniforms and participate in our initiative called “BRING PROJECT” that makes recycling polyester clothing a semi-permanent part of the school year.
A number of events are held throughout the year, including a large amount of extracurricular learning and hands-on classes offered to each grade. Also, once a month, it is customary to enjoy a lunch box made in the cafeteria on the school grounds called “picnic lunch day”.
Summer camp is one of the major events that all Grade 1 students participate in every year. It is a fun event for 3 days and 2 nights that starts soon after the summer vacation begins. Tents will be set up on the site and visitors will be able to experience somen nagashi (catching flowing fine noodles), pajama parties, fuan house making, movies, a treasure hunt, fireworks displays, horseback riding experiences, playing in the river, BBQ, soap bubbles, crafts, cooking, etc. This event is very popular among students every year.
During the refreshing autumn season, the Linden Hall Festival is held with the participation of all students from the elementary and high schools. Various programmes are held, including English speech contests and presentations, Japanese dance, hip-hop dance, violin and piano performances, chorus, tea ceremony demonstrations, quizzes, games and band performances. It is a lively festival where everyone can enjoy various cultural aspects.
The 1st and 2nd Grade students take the UNATE (United Nations Association’s Test of English), and the 3rd Grade to 6th Grade students take the TOEFL Junior and TOEFL Primary tests.
English Immersion Education
During the Christmas season, the volunteers visit nursing homes and preschools in the community to present songs and performances.
Every year since the school was founded, all the students in the school participate in the annual “Shakespearean Play”. So far, we have shown “Romeo and Juliet”, “Macbeth”, “A Midsummer Night's Dream”, “Much Ado About Nothing”, “Othello”, “Julius Caesar”, “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, “As You Like It”, “The Taming of the Shrew” and “King Lear”. The “Shakespearean Play” will be performed in English on stage by all students for parents.
