We are proud to announce that Kento Honda was selected into the “Tobitate! Represent Japan Study Abroad Programme”. This achievement is a great step toward Kento’s professional dreams and goals.

Kento learned about this international opportunity while in elementary school, by listening to a senior’s speech. Inspired by his schoolmate’s positive experience, he decided to take on a similar challenge. Kento felt strongly that going overseas through Tobitate’s programme would become key to turning his dreams into reality.

Kento’s wish is to become a movie director. He wants to create movies that make people reflect on various societal and global happenings. Having already gotten a taste of filmmaking, Kento wants to learn from Hollywood movie makers and compare their processes and norms with those of movie makers in Japan.

Kento plans to study abroad for about one month. At the sending-off event he joined in early June, he had the opportunity to interact with other Tobitate programme participants. Kento is looking forward to sharing about his experience to his schoolmates upon his return.
