Jun 9, 2022

SDGs Clothing Education Project members participated in the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit , which was held on April 23 and 24.

On the 23rd, project leader and grade 12 student, Maria Tsuzuki presented the project as a case study and contributed to discussion sessions as the Youth Representative for Japan.

On the 24th, we were able to use the booth provided by Kyushu University’s “Youth Water Forum Kyushu” initiative. There, 7 SDGs Clothing Education project members presented on the multitude of project activities as well as its beach cleaning excursion in Itoshima.

While we had originally planned simply to showcase our activities, stakeholders of the United Nations 2023 Water Conference, inspired by Maria’s presentation on the previous day, came down to our booth and sparked an impromptu discussion session.

Students expressed that they were glad they had travelled to Kumamoto for this precious and memorable opportunity.
