~Interview with Honda Kento~

1. What were your thoughts behind making “Alice in her wonder land”?

I created the short film while studying abroad in Hollywood. I was responsible for writing the script, operating the camera, and directing the film. I wanted to express how we should be thankful for all the joys that can be found even in our mundane everyday lives.

2. How did you feel when you received the Segi Naoki Director Award?

In the midst of the historic Hollywood strike, there were many restrictions while filming my project. I was worried that I wasn’t able to produce my best work so I was surprised to receive the award. I was very happy.

3. Please tell us about your future projects!

I want to create films that focus on what’s in your heart- emotions. I wanted to make more visible these invisible feelings. If viewers of my film can empathize just a little with the characters' situations, then I would feel so happy as an aspiring filmmaker.
