On Sunday, August 2, Mr. Fujimura, Miss Miyahara, Miss Kita, and Miss Luong (Grade 10) participated in the 29th Annual Meeting of the Fukuoka Society for Environmental Education, held at Mii Campus of Kurume University. As part of the conference theme, "Activities to Foster Environmentally Responsible Values," they gave a poster presentation introducing the environmental research they have carried out in class.
Their presentation focused on a project they completed in Grade 9, which involved collecting microplastics from local beaches and producing bioplastics. The students had previously presented this research at the summit held in Kumamoto in July.

During the poster session, they responded thoughtfully and confidently to questions from participants, reflecting on their research process and explaining their findings in detail.

The conference also gave students the opportunity to learn from presentations by other high schools, universities, and research institutions. Through these exchanges, they gained broader perspectives on environmental issues and a deeper understanding of how classroom learning can be connected to society.
We hope that this valuable experience will inspire them to continue their inquiry-based learning and encourage them to take on new challenges in environmental research and action.
