Award ceremonies for the 2023 Governor’s Award for Contributions to Environmental Conservation and Governor’s Award for Contributions to Developing a Circular Economy were conducted at the Fukuoka Yoshizuka Joint Government Building on Friday, June 2.
For the past 13 years, Linden Hall School has consistently striven to promote the recycling and reuse of clothing. In 2020, our SDGs Clothing Education Project students redesigned the school’s PE uniform so that it was made out of recycled polyester clothing.
Such efforts have culminated in our receiving the Governor’s Award for Contributions to Developing a Circular Economy.
Comment from Kei Kozuru in grade 12, who represented the project team at the award ceremony:
“Through participating in the SDGs Clothing Education Project, I learned just how much our day-to-day activities and decisions impact the environment. New knowledge about innovative solutions to environmental issues, such as BRING recycling technology, broadened my perspective. At the award ceremony, I enjoyed the opportunity to learn about various individuals’ and organizations’ contributions to environmental sustainability.”
Linden Hall School is committed to continuing our efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
