On Tuesday, April 29, students from our school participated in the World Scholar's Cup 2026 Kyushu Round, an international team-based academic competition held at a private school in Fukuoka City. Conducted entirely in English, the event challenges students in the areas of knowledge, collaboration, and communication through activities such as writing, debate, and quizzes. Our Grade 8 and Grade 9 students competed in teams of three and took part in the various academic events throughout the day.
In the Scholars Bowl, a quiz-style team competition, one of the Grade 9 teams achieved an impressive 10th-place finish. Several students also delivered outstanding individual performances. In the Writing category, Miss Nakamichi (Grade 8), Miss Aso (Grade 8), and Miss Kuo (Grade 9) earned strong results, while in the Debate category, Mr. Otsuka (Grade 9), Miss Tsuzuki (Grade 8), and Miss Nakamichi (Grade 8) demonstrated exceptional effort and skill. As a result of their achievements, the team also qualified for the Global Round.

After the competition, students shared comments such as, “It was really difficult!” and “It was even more enjoyable than I expected!” The event became a memorable opportunity for students to experience personal growth and learning through challenge and teamwork.
We would like to congratulate all participants from our school and extend our appreciation to every student who took part in the competition.

We would also like to thank the Linden Hall students who supported the event as staff members for the second consecutive year for their hard work and dedication throughout the long day.
