Over the course of the 4th to the 6th of August, Mr. Fujimura and Ms. Yoshioka of year 9 participated in the 'AMEA with ECOPs OCEAN LITERACY CONFERANCE 2025 JAPAN' in Tokyo, centered on the Asia Marine Educators Association, which is focused on the spreading and strengthening of ocean education and ocean literacy in Asia, and Early Career Ocean Professionals, an international network of young researchers and professionals early in their career.
At this conference, elementary, middle, and high school students give post presentations based on the newest reports regarding ocean literacy, and the two students from our school gave an explanation on the research into microplastics which they have been involved in since last year.
After the event, Mr. Fujimura said 'it was a very valuable time, where we could exchange experiences and ideas between knowledgeable people from several countries and students from other schools', while Ms. Yoshioka said 'it was very good, and we were able to converse with people from many countries. It was not just a matter of answering questions, but also a good opportunity to discuss together the matters of the day'.
Apparently, they also wish to make a presentation next time. We teachers will continue to support them so that they can take this opportunity to make their inspirations into reality.
