On Saturday, September 19, Miss Luong, a Grade 10 student, won second place at the 45th Fukuoka Prefectural High School English Speech Contest, held at Japan University of Economics, one of our affiliated schools.
In her speech, titled “The Tourist’s Guide to,” Miss Luong explored how globalization has made the world feel closer and more accessible than ever. At the same time, she pointed out that the cultures we encounter are often only one part of a much larger picture. Through her speech, she emphasized the importance of looking beyond surface-level images and taking the time to understand the deeper background and richness of different cultures.

In preparation for the contest, Miss Luong practiced her speech repeatedly and was able to demonstrate the results of her hard work on the day, earning an excellent second-place finish.
We believe that the insights and lessons she gained through this challenge will serve her well in her future school life and various activities.
Congratulations to Miss Luong on winning second place!
We look forward to seeing her continue to take on new challenges with enthusiasm and broaden the opportunities in which she can share her talents and ideas.
