From July 20 to 24, Linden Hall High School held its Summer Camp 2026 for students from Grade 5 of elementary school through Grade 9, under the theme "Learning STEAM in English." Nearly 30 students from Fukuoka, Tokyo, South Korea, Thailand, and other locations joined us for five days of learning, discovery, and international exchange.
During the academic program, students were divided into two groups according to their grade level. In addition to English, they attended classes in mathematics, environmental studies, and business management—all conducted in English by our teachers.

One of the most popular activities was the hands-on PET bottle rocket project. After designing and building their own rockets, students launched them outdoors, combining creativity with scientific exploration.

Here are some highlights from this year's Summer Camp:
[Orientation]

[Astronomy Class led by Mr. Bart from our affiliated institution, Japan University of Economics]

[Japanese Tea Ceremony led by Mr. Nakasone, who teaches tea ceremony at our school]

[Art Activities]

[Visit to Fukuoka City Science Museum]

[Visit to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine]

On the final day of the camp, each group reflected on what they had learned and gave a presentation sharing their experiences and discoveries.

The camp concluded with a farewell party, where many students found it difficult to say goodbye to their new friends. Some of the Grade 6 participants shared their thoughts:
"The second visit to the planetarium was my favorite. I learned so much about the stars and the sun."
"Visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu was a completely new and memorable experience."
"The night party and spending time with everyone in the dormitory were so much fun!"
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the students and families who traveled from near and far to participate in this year's Summer Camp.
Although the camp lasted only five days, we are delighted that the participants were able to experience the unique learning environment and welcoming atmosphere of Linden Hall High School.
We sincerely hope to welcome everyone back again in the future.
