Second Open School of 2025

Sep 8, 2025

On the 6th of September, the second Open School of this year was held, and roughly sixty attendees came from not only Kyushu, but also Tokyo, Chiba, Okinawa, America, India, Australia, and Korea.

To begin, Headmistress Kondo gave greetings, and acting Vice-Principal Kageyama gave an introduction to the traits of the school and its successes, as well as an overview on admissions.

After that, students were divided into two groups based on school year, and participated in mock English and Science lessons.

(Attendees were able to freely tour the school facilities after the lesson)

In addition, for this event, a graduate of our school. Miss Takatsuru, who is currently studying at the international education department of Waseda University, explained what she did while at our school, and what she learned that she finds still useful to this day.

From current students, we had a presentation regarding lunches, student committees, and the work towards environmental preservation through study-abroad travel.

At the Q&A section, many questions were given to the current and graduate students regarding English education, future prospects, and life in the dorms, and these questions were answered genuinely by the students.

At the open school, individual consultation was given to each attendee, and those who wished so could also take a tour of the facilities and experience the organic lunches.

From the guardians in attendance were comments such as:
'I understood well the atmosphere of the school', 'there was much that my child wished to do (at our school)', 'I learned more about the IB', 'the English lessons were exciting and fun'

In addition, the organic lunches, fulfilling Japanese education, and the fact that we are an article-1 Japanese school were all well received.

Our next open school, on the 15th of November, will be our last open school of the year.
